Cheer Up directed by Lee Eun Jin

In this Korean drama called, Cheer Up, director by Lee Eun Jin, the students in Baek Ho club are rich and good at studying and in the Real Kings club, they are bad at studying but they are good at dancing. One of the rich student, Soo Ah, care too much about her grades and end up hurting her friends. Shes 2nd place on the exam and her mother is not happy about it. Shes trying to compete with Kim Yeol, the number one in the school.

The people in Real King club, score the lowest, 196th, 198th, 200th place, but at least they tried their best on it. They like dancing so, of course, they put on loud music while the next room, Baek Ho club members were studying. Baek Ho decided to challenge them on, whose music is the loudest. The music on louder and louder but the Real Kings stereo was older than Baek Ho. They end up destroying their own stereo and went out to talk to the Baek Ho members to share electricity with them because their electricity was connected to theirs too. Kim Yeol as the vice president, he disagree and both clubs got into a fight.

Some parents were complaining about the noise because their children can’t concentrate on their studies. Soo Ah as Yeon Doos roommate and Baek Hos member, they get along very well but Yeon Doo doesn’t know that Soo Ah was using her to get close to Kim Yeol to make him lose points, so she will be number 1 in the whole school. Yeon Doo went and talked to Yeol about being more friendly with them but Yeon Doo slip and end up hugging Kim Yeol, someone took a photo of them and sent it to their homeroom teacher. This was inappropriate for the school and the principal decided to shut down their club, which Real King caused too much mess for her anyways. Yeon Doo, as their leader in Real King, will do anything to revive their club. She posted a post about revive their club and the Education Office revive the club back.

The principle agree to it but under one condition, they have to participate in the regional championship. In order to revive the club, their club members have to join with Baek Ho to participate in the regional championship, cheerleading competition, which was to get Soo Ah into Lvy Leagues School. They, all disagree because the principal use them for Soo Ahs benefit admission and she was the one who took the photo of Yeol and Yeon Doo and sent it to the teacher, which they both got into trouble. But, then Kim Yeol have to protect his friend from being kick out of the school and send to mental health, so he have to join the cheerleading. All he need is to convince Yeon Doo. Yeon Doo disagree at first, but then her friends got kick out of the dorm one by one. In order to protect her friends from suffering, she agree to it even though it was for Soo Ahs benefit. But later the coach have the permission to give all the students in cheerleading, a grade to make it fair for the Real Kings members, too.

After the competition, midterm exam is coming in three days, everyone were studying hard on it. Even Baek Hos members were helping Real King, too. They get along pretty well after working together on the cheerleading competition. On the writing assessment, Soo Ahs scored two points away from Kim Yeol, she was upset and know that no matter how much she studied, she wont be able to beat Kim Yeol. So, she stole their teacher, Ims, USB for the English Exam and blame it to Kim Yeol by putting it into his backpack without him knowing. Kim Yeol was suspended for twenty days, which he wont be able to take midterm exam. After the exam, Yeon Doo and Kim Yeols friend were looking through the security camera to find the real culprit but the CCTV that recorded that scene isn’t from the school, it was from the security company. Soo Ah ask her sponsor for her college, Chief Lee, to get rid of the CCTV footage that captured her stealing the USB. Chief Lee went to talk to the security company and they said theyll get rid of it, unfortunately, someone already made a copy of it.

The cheerleading club planned to go camping for a few days. There had been warn to Soo Ah about giving her a chance to revealing herself before he reveal her true self to everyone. During the camp, theres another warned, a pink sticky note, in her bag and she thought it would be Yeon Doo. Later, Yeon Doo and Soo Ah went to the store to buy groceries for the club, which is far from where they are staying at. However, Soo Ah saw the same pink sticky note in Yeon Doos bag. Soo Ah got scared and left Yeon Doo at the store. But it not Yeon Doo that gives her the warn, it was Kim Yeol. He was just borrowing some of Yeon Doos sticky note. After going back to school, one of the Real Kings members saw the video clip and posted it under Yeon Doo names because it was the only laptop that was in the club room. Soo Ah got upset and wanting to kill herself but everyone in the club decided to forgiving her because everyone deserve a second chance.

Of course, everyone wants to be number 1 in the school but being number 2 isn’t so bad. If I am number 2, I would be happy even though it not number 1, it good enough for me. From this movie, I learned that no matter how much people try to cover up the truth, theres no such thing as secret in this world. The truth will come out one day.
